Recently a friend of mine called to check my interest to explore a new jungle near Hyderabad. I immediately said yes and a plan was made to visit it during the weekend.
Amrabad Tiger Reserve calling along with Manik, Dr. GK, Munna and myself.
I must confess, Amrabad Tiger Reserve is a unique forest in many aspects and with an estimate of 40-45 tigers, it will surely be a forest reserve that will evince lot of interests from wildlife enthusiasts and naturalists alike..
Amrabad reserve forest has teak trees that are thin and sparse, green blanket of grass that are not tall but flat, bamboo shrubs that are spread across the park, spring water streams, flat rocky beds, flat ridge line on top of the mountain and many such features that are unique. Not to forget the Fauna in this jungle is unique as well with lot of Birds, Mammals, Butterflies.
We were lucky to spot ‘Trishul’ the bold male tiger that was resting, yawning and turning trying to get some rest probably after a big meal!! He is bold and gave us multiple shots and we were treated to see him in this forest setting.
Am sure with growing number of visitors to the park and frequent sightings of Tigers, Amrabad Tiger Reserve will rule the charts in the coming days.
If you have not been to Amrabad yet, time to pack your bags and spend sometime at Amrabad.
Road to Amrabad Tiger reserve opens at 6AM and closes at 9PM. Vehicular traffic is closed between these times.
This place can get crowded as it falls on the way to popular place called Srisailam which is an adobe of Sri Mallikarjuna.
Safari vehicles here are good and many of them are modified Suzuki Jimneys. Very comfortable ride and silent at slower speeds.
