Kuno - The name resounds a story of success! Kuno national park in the central indian state of Madhya Pradesh, was chosen as the site for re-introduction of 'Cheetahs' in India after decades of it became extinct from India.
Chose one of our family holidays near Jaipur to visit Kuno.
Kuno's forest, a mix of grasslands, mountainous terrain and good number of water bodies makes it an ideal habitat for wild animals. Kuno hosts a large variety of mamals like Leopard, Jungle Cats and a good prey base like Chitals, wild boars and samba deers.
Our first few safaris did not yield any sightings of either Leopards or the Cheetah. It was sometime during our last safari, we got a good glimpse of the Cheetah. We were excited and jumping with joy of sighting the Cheetah up close. Clicked many photos and returned with satisfaction of seeing the Cheetah on indian soil.
We were lucky to sight other mamals like Jungle cat, a striped Hyena and a Leoapard with its cub.
Bset time to visit depends on the weather conditoins . As Kuno is in the central part of India, summers cna be very hot and winters can be very cold. Chose a time durig early winters or late summers.
